My voluntary 12 year tour of duty that I served with the RAF in many areas of the world, were definitely the best years of my life. The in-depth airborne electronics and computer engineering knowledge (avionics) that I received from them was second-to-none in the world and has served me very well throughout my working career ever since. When I had my unfortunate accident in Thailand a few years ago, it was the Royal Air Force that came through for me and because of the resulting physical disabilty that I incurred (legless), they arranged for my service pension to be brought forward by ten years for me and that is how I survive today.

The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund (RAFBF) below, is an organisation that helps Ex RAF personnel and families experiencing difficulties. It's funding is purely by voluntary donations from individuals and companies. The RAFBF are the people that first came to my aid in my time of need after my accident.
